Waxing Care Tips
We love the silky smooth hair-free skin after waxing - but there can be some pain during and after waxing. It's important to know what to do before and after a Wax Treatment to avoid skin irritation, rashes or infections.
Waxing is a well know method to remove hair from hair follicles altogether. Many choose Waxing to get rid of unwanted body hair because the hair usually takes longer to grow back. It's also effective for removing hair from large body areas quickly like the legs, chest, and back. Waxing can also remove hair from smaller areas like armpits, upper lip, around the eyebrows, and around the genitals. Waxing however can cause some complications, including pain when pulled from the follicles.
Waxing removes hair by pulling it out at its roots. This can cause common skin irritation and open pores to bacterial infections. Many report irritating rashes and bumps on the skin after waxing. This is why you should have a good after waxing skincare regime.
If you're thinking about getting Waxed- take note of these before and aftercare steps.
Prepare Your Skin for Waxing
Waxing can traumatize the skin, so it’s essential to prepare the area before waxing to help prevent complications after epilation. Ensure your skin is softened before the waxing and exfoliated, so dead skin cells are removed.
To prevent rashes, ingrown hair, and skin infections, Waxing Studio recommends the following steps to prepare your skin:
Let your hair grow so that it is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch
Don’t shave in the 2 weeks before waxing
You could gently exfoliate the area a day or two before waxing to make the removal of dead skin cells and lift hair easier.
Don’t exfoliate on the day of your waxing
Apply an excellent natural moisturizer after exfoliating the skin to help soften the skin and make hair removal easier

After Care Tips
To reduce the risk of infection after waxing, it's important to care for your skin properly. Here are our Waxing After Care tips.
Wear loosing fit clothing - After waxing, it’s essential to wear loose clothing to avoid getting skin rashes and irritating your skin. Clothing rubbing against waxed skin can cause friction, causing your sensitive skin to become more irritated. Wearing loose clothing and cotton underwear helps your skin be breathable, preventing excess sweating and bacteria buildup that could cause clusters of small infected bumps after waxing.
Shower and Bath in Cool or Luke warm water - Cold water helps to constrict blood vessels, preventing inflammation and swelling in the affected skin area.
Exfoliate and Moisturizing - Can occur 2 days after your wax treatment. This will prevent follicles getting blocked that could cause some pimples to form or a hair to grow back in on itself.
